A hand-verified shortlist of PBT keycap sets in the flat & uniform profile family (DSA / SA / XDA / MOA / MDA / KAT), sorted into three aesthetics — sourced from Etsy and specialist keycap retailers. Every listing below was opened and confirmed live.
DSA, SA, XDA, MOA, MDA, KAT. Standard Cherry/OEM sculpts were excluded from the main picks (a few exceptional ones appear in the labelled “near-miss” rows). Profile is called out on every card.etsy.com/listing/… URLs with no affiliate wrappers or trackers. Keycaps only — boards and switches shown in photos are not included.Your Q8's split bottom row needs a 2.25u + 2.75u spacebar pair (and a 1.75u left shift). Most sets here are ANSI-only — but that's a solved problem: 3 already ship the convex split bars, and the rest are one ~$8 convex kit away. Flip the lens to re-grade every card, float the ready ones up, and see the real ready-to-type price.
The 2018 “bisexual lighting” wash — soft-but-saturated pink and magenta into purple into electric blue, romantic neon dusk (Atomic Blonde, San Junipero, John Wick). Honest finding after going wide: that exact pink/purple/blue palette lives almost entirely in Cherry-profile sets, so genuinely flat-profile and in-stock bi-lighting is scarce — this is the hardest bucket to fill. The grid holds the real flat-profile finds — a pink→violet→blue “Starry Sky”, a charcoal neon-noir, clean violet gradients, cold-blue techno — and the expanded near-miss row below is where the pure-palette sets live, including two that finally get the profile right (uniform KAM) but are between production runs.
Two kinds of near-miss. First, the pure pink/purple/blue palette in Cherry (sculpted) profile — the truest match to the vibe if you’ll flex profile, and fully in stock (Synth Sunset, Kabukicho, Neon Abyss, Neon Night). Second, two uniform KAM sets that finally nail palette and profile but are mid-restock (alphas kits only, right now).
Soft sage, matcha, lavender and butter-yellow; gentle gradients and botanical / celestial motifs. The deepest bucket — anchored by YuniKeyCo (the lavender you loved, now joined by its matcha, pastel-gradient and kawaii siblings) and by Mintlodica, whose “Pastel Dreams” gives the mintlodify look its name — plus matcha, elegant sage and greenhouse-botanical sets alongside.
Lush and on-theme, but Cherry profile.
Named for Jed Henry’s series, this bucket is about interesting artistic takes on the same IPs he reimagines — now spanning Zelda, Pokémon (Pikachu, Sylveon, a 151-key Pokédex), Mario & the Famicom, Animal Crossing, Kirby and Studio Ghibli (Totoro) — plus the woodblock that inspired them, from Hokusai’s Fugaku to a ukiyo-e Coral Sea wave. The art and the character are the point; flat / uniform profile and PBT throughout.
The single most iconic ukiyo-e image — if you’ll take Cherry profile.
Any ANSI set on this page + one of these = Q8-ready. All uniform-profile (so the small bars are convex), PBT, and they include the 2.25u + 2.75u your Alice needs. Match a light kit to the pastel & cream sets, black to the cyberpunk ones. Cheaper than re-buying a whole set — and it's why almost nothing here is truly off-limits.
