Hi, my name is Drew, and this is my personal website.

How I became a software developer

It all goes back to a dumb sports injury in high school. I got a multiple-season-ending injury during football season, so I joined the school newspaper in the spring, and discovered a love of photography & journalism that I followed through college, graduating with a degree in history.

I couldn't afford nice photography equipment & a computer for editing, so I learned to build my own computer, and I realized I really liked it. Like really liked it. I eventually went back to school to get a CS degree, and the rest is, well, not history =)

As a result, I'm a highly technically-skilled software engineer with the writing and critical-thinking skills that liberal-arts educations are prized for.

I love working at startups, and as a result I pour most of my software development energy into work, but here are a couple things I've done that exist outside of a specific work context:
